This is an Empanada, it's a dish made of fried corn and chaya (a local herb) and filled with cheese.

These particular tacos are a local dish. They are called Papadzules, filled with eggs and bathed with a pip sauce and sausage. Believe me, they're delicious.

Mexican food is worldwide popular but over time it has been distorted the real image and flavor of our food. Real mexican food get only reserve fot those who travel to Mexico and go to little towns with a tradicional mexican heritage and, I know,  it's a total shame.
In my latest lifestyle post click here I went to Izamal, which is a small tradicional town near to my city. Once there I couldn't resist to eat real mexican food, or in this case, yucatecan food.
The last dish is mine, I order a popular yucatecan steak called Poc-Chuc (I really love meat, so if you love meat as I do I recommend this dish to you) you eat it with handmade tortillas (these type of tortillas are richer in flavor). I recommend this place if you come to Yucatan.
